Freedom

Have you ever wondered how freedom gets eradicated? You have Jew vs. Muslim, Black vs. White, Christian vs. Gay, dismiss all things respectable, and use others to do your bidding for you. Amazing how the tired, hungry, poor, ignored, and ambitious can all be offered scraps from a table to unify behind one that in plain sight divides them and takes more away than they receive or had to begin with.

So how do you hold on to freedom? You stand together, the many, the whole. You celebrate your differences and you help the fallen. You love! You gaze upon the divider and in one voice say NO!

Please don't fall into the trap of division and strife. Don't get drug into the muddy pits of unsavory debate. Return love in the face of hate.  And yes, use your voice, your will, and your hearts to say NO!

Freedom is so precious and so hard to get back once you lose it. Rise above, dismiss those that deceive and serve all. When we love others as ourselves the world truly becomes free and that seed of love is tomorrow blossom of our hearts.

Ethics

With so many scandals of late we should discuss ethics. It is a difficult topic for some but a necessary one for society.

Ethics are essentially how we treat each other. As you can guess love should be the rule of the day. What I can tell you it is not just about our failures. Many of us in life fail or fall from grace. The true test of ethics is how do we proceed after such.

Everyone talks about what is wrong and how you should treat others but few talk about if what you do if you fail or fall. So lets discuss that.

When we fall in any way we must examine ourselves. We must ask the hard questions of where did things go wrong. Why did we stumble into a path of despair. We must ask ourselves who did we hurt and how can we make right.

The trick with ethics is even after a fall we must continue and rebuild ourselves. It is not easy but neither is love. That quite frankly is usually the problem. At some point we stop using love and disregard someone somewhere for some reason.

I've stumbled many times in my life. I have even fallen. But I accept my errors as best I can and try to pick myself up and learn. Hopefully I can make right for whatever I have done or do better in the future. Because that is part of ethics. Always acknowledge your failures as well as your success.

When you acknowledge both you show you are trying. You show you care enough to learn and heal. You show love.

The reasons why we fall are many. Sometimes it is out of our hands and we get drawn into things unintentionally. Sometimes we dive in.  The latter being the worst. As I have mentioned before we must approach people and life with love.

I realize we are not perfect but neither is love. It requires work, support, and so much devoted energy. Sometimes we have to forgive ourselves and sometimes others. Sometimes we must forgive the unforgivable.

Life is not perfect and neither are we. I think that is the point though. We all have flaws. The only way to work with each other is to hold a standard of compassion and love. When we abandon that then we are in an ethical quandary.

Oh I could tell you so many times in my life people have left deep and bitter scars. There have been times in deep pain I lashed back at them. There have been times I lashed out at whoever stumbled upon a deeply hurt soul.

However I can, I try. I don't have every answer or idea how to fix it all but I do try. In that I love. I forgive, both myself and others. It is and always has been the origin of a problem for which we must resolve and heal. For without this we only treat the symptoms.

As for ethics we should begin in honesty, dignity, respect, and yes love. People may not return it but we must try. We may feel the sting of reprisal for falling but it is a result of our path. Sometimes we end up in thorns.

Justice in such matters vary. It is difficult to tally up a response because every persons pain is different. However, it must be done. It is an ethical soul that when they hurt acknowledges their pains and accepts censure or punishment to balance the pain.

And if it is justice it will not outweigh the pain caused. It is just as much about love when we deal justice as it is when we pay for it. We must acknowledge our imperfections in judgement as well as payment.

Love is our only path if we are to ever exist and thrive as a society. Without it you will only know pain and division. It is not perfect and we may be hurt but if we refuse to give up and do try then we give love a chance. And in the end love is the only thing that will heal us.

The ethical soul lives in and for love. It knows when to pay and when to forgive. It is the anvil of  of perfection.

I am imperfect but I love. As such it makes my path that which leads to perfection even with all my flaws. Please lead an ethical life and choose love. It serves us all.

The Game

I'm sure many of us know the grand game we are sucked into by racists, bigots, radicals, and so many more. They seek to debate and contest everything about us. They are much like a street hustler with a shell or card game. Their slights of hand and speech distract you from the perceived target so that you fail.

So how do we win this game that seeks to question our very lives and existence? It is simple. We don't play the game.

If someone is engaging you in slight of hand and speech you don't engage a ruse. If you do you are then reacting and the it now becomes their timetable and structure. Never dignify the thoughts or ideas that tear people apart or cause them harm.  You only validate their views as worthy of debate.

By no means ignore them either. In time they can entice and stir up those who are not informed or educated enough on things. You do however walk up to them eye to eye and you tell them:  How dare you question another Humans dignity. How dare you try and treat a fellow citizen as anything less than equal. How dare you even consider violence or murder towards another as a preemptive strike. How dare you treat people as anything less than Human.

Look them in the eye, stand! Do not back down. Do not waiver. Ignore their slights of hand and speech. Condemn the man who would even think of demeaning or hurting another simple because they exist.

This is not about violence but they may very well make it so. If that occurs then defend yourself in and with love. Know even in their violence it is a distraction not meant for you but for others. They will use it as evidence they are being persecuted for their beliefs.

Love, Honor, Dignity, and Justice are the only discussions and actions in a true society. Anything else is a disservice to someone. And when someone is treated so we are all in danger, for it never stops there. In time we all become judged and targets.

Never play the game. Love and love with surety. Those who seek to play with your lives can not survive in love. Hate is their game.

Limits

Let us talk a bit about limits today. It seems to be all the rage in talk of late. Some people talk of limiting gun laws. Some want to limit LGBT rights. Others want to limit police power. It does not matter which aspect is chosen as it does the very topic.

Normally I walk you down a path of understanding to a conclusion. Today let us go directly to the point. There are no set limitations to your life. However you must also be accountable to your actions. As such you have no authority over anyone but yourself.

For the sake of a greater achievement and unity sometimes we come together and set rules or goals for us to work by. All is fine if each and every person is respected. However when you decided to limit or harm another it is you who are in violation of the ultimate rule of life.

All people are sovereign and all are priceless. Sometimes we lose our way, get scared, hurt beyond belief, or even go mad. It does not dismiss the rules of sovereignty, however.  In order to be sovereign you must love.

Love is the anvil from which all things are lain in judgement. It allows us the understanding to take into context our actions and those of others. For without it you remove Humanity. And when you do that you have lost all authority, even over yourself.

One can commit a horrible murder but do we stop at the surface or look further. The question should always be why. Who or what pushed a person to such an extreme?  Was there any other path or anyone to prevent such a path? Did anyone bother to try to intervene in such a path? The questions are many.

There are few absolutes in our existence. One however is love. Never turn it off. Never judge without it. Never deny it.

So back to our point, limits. When do we limit power or authority? We do not unless the sovereignty of one or many have been affected. However with that statement goes the fact only the one who has violated said sovereignty shall be limited.

You can argue people need restraints or modesty. You can argue a need for security. However if you can not in love be fair to all your point has no merit.

The truth is and always has been that we and I are the same. Guilty until proven innocent, punished for the acts of others, censored for disagreement, murdered for existence... Examples of a lack of love.

Whatever or whoever you chose to limit must be held to the anvil of love. It is only Human.

So can you love another and accept all the vulnerabilities that come with that? Can you accept it may cause you pain? Can you accept it may charge you? Love is the heights and depths of the Human soul.

There are no limitations except for those which you set for yourself. Set those in love else it is you for which the anvil shall judge. Hopefully you judged with love. Anything else is inhuman.

Accountablity

In these times we must look beyond the surface and search for the roots of our problems. We must hold people accountable for their words and actions. We must enlighten.

We live in an age where people seem to have lost connection and responsibility. From the highest office to the entertainment and media we see a society that strives for more; more fame, more power, more money.

Anything to achieve their goals seems to be the rule they employ. But I say no. You are accountable and always shall be. When your words and actions drive people to extremes, depression, insanity, or even death you bear that sin. You bear that sin alone.

It matters how you achieve your goals. People are not toys to be manipulated, isolated, subjugated or hurt. They are free. I don't care if you agree. It is so!

When you harm you become evil, even if only slightly. This world is ours, all of ours. It is our lives, not just yours. It is one thing to wage a campaign of thought evolution and wider vision. It is another to limit, harm, or remove those you disagree with.

As I said it is a sin. You who originate it bear it alone. Those you have hurt, misguided, or enthralled must still pay their dues but you who lain its origin bear its weight, alone.

Society is not a perfect place and never will be. If it did become so we would stop being Human. All people are not on the same level of development or thought. Taking advantage of those who do not know any better or are not ready to change is wrong.

Prompting change by any means necessary is evil. Pushing people by any means necessary is evil. Hurting people by any means necessary is evil.

You are accountable for your words and actions and by proxy those you drive before you. The good soul will hurt when they see though your lies and deceptions and hurt for all things. The origin however must carry that sin.

This is not a battle of good vs. evil. It is a quest for justice. For justice allows all accounts to be settled.

Everyone is accountable and everyone has things on their account. The question is do we right them.

Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote "No man can have society upon his own terms."  I disagree. When we achieve justice and strive for justice all are served. Will we have perfect terms? No! Will we have acceptable terms? Yes!

You see when you love and it is true your heart can forgive and mend. When you love, you make right however you can. You can not erase all that has gone before but you can love. Love sustains. Love heals.

My terms for life are love. Maybe one day everyone will know such grace.

Stand By Me

Sometimes in life we get bogged down by details, people speaking, and all sorts of distractions. We get lost in the tide of negativity instead of realizing whats most important.

Stand! Help another stand! Stand together!

Amazing words what old music can teach if we actually listen and not get distracted.

A Solution

I keep hearing, most of my life, this or that is the solution to our problems. It does not matter what the issue, from personal to the world. People rush to and fro trying to fix the many broken things in our lives. It is not my goal to proclaim the solution to all the problems that exist but I think I can safely say what is the path to fix them. So today I offer a solution.

The solution I offer is one most people will not like. It requires much work and it upends our society on every level. People typically do not like change. My reply however is if it has not been solved and it is still broken then maybe we should try a new path.

The first step to any solution is unity and compassion. You can not solve hunger, poverty, discrimination, and so much more unless you finally begin to set aside your selfish ways and think of everyone as your equal. Everyone matters and everyone deserves to thrive.

Throughout our existence we have dabbled with basic concepts along these lines but we never seem to fully embrace them. The truth is yes we are individuals but we make up a whole. As I have written some time now both are inseparable. Both are vital and valid. The problem is people wish to take them to extremes.

The one, the few, the many, the whole are all the same. It is when we we finally put into perspective that my neighbor is part of me we begin to understand how to effect change. A person before me is hungry. I have food. You feed them. A person before me needs clothes. I have extra clothes. You clothe them. A person before me has horrible scars or problems, to much for them to bear. I can listen and help them find help. You share their burdens.

It is not about politics or religion. There is a fundamental force in the universe. It surrounds us and it is the very thing that sustains us and connects us. Call it whatever you will. The fact is it binds us all and runs through us. It nourishes us. Philosophers and spiritualists have delved into it for as long as recorded history.

Quite essentially everyone has endless potential. It is us however who limit it. When we begin to believe there is no other way or solution we have given up. Never give up! Anything and I do many anything is possible. There is no shortage of resources, their is no shortage of time, and there is no limitation.

I know that concept can be frightening and quite overwhelming. Some have a hard time seeing beyond their arm and some see endless competition or conquest. But then again those to are limitations. The truth is if you understood true power you would never need to go beyond yourself.

Oh I know many will dismiss this as new age nonsense or whimsical idealism but is it? As I already said if we begin to see each other as an extension of ourselves and cared for them as we would our self then would those issues that affect us begin to fade?

If you are hungry and have food would you not feed yourself? If you are hurt and have medical supplies would you not tend your wounds?  If you are scared would you not try to alleviate your fears? If your neighbor is part of your body then that is exactly what you would do.

The energy of life, the soul is bound by that very force I mentioned. We may not see it but it is there. All the oxygen on this world is shared by us all. We breath in and breath out. What has gone into me has been in another. It has been been rejuvenated by plants as a filter. The water we drink enters us and exits. Later it it is consumed again by another. Existence its self is a connector.

If you stop and think the welfare of the one or few ripples throughout the whole. You may not see the ripple but you certainly encounter it. One ignored homeless person can spawn desperation, crime, distress, and so much more. But did it have to be when so many walk by them every day? How did it come about? Some began to place themselves separate or above others. They began to ignore what they assumed they could not or would not change.

Remember you may be one but you are one among many. Each of you are unique. Each of you are one. Maybe if we embraced love, that golden force, we could look into the endless void and see that which is begins with each of us.

There is no hunger when we feed us.
There is no wound when we tend us.
There is no fear when we comfort us.
There is no discrimination when we see us.
There is no...

Never limit yourself. Never ignore the part of you that goes beyond your body. Never dismiss the grand connection that binds us all and sustains us. True power, true solutions come in the knowledge it is we, all of us, from the most meek to the richest and most famous that matters. No one is more important than another. By the same right the whole is not more important than the individual. Why you may ask. For we are one in the same.

You can hoard wealth, resources, knowledge, even influence but it is still a limitation to your life. It is just as much an obstacle as a being poor and ignored. Yes your cage may have more gilding's and things but you to struggled to keep and maintain such things. You must secure things from others who wish to have your abundance. You have fears of losing. You to have people who ignore you. Ironic the same situation just different amounts of resources at your disposal.

Do not get me wrong this is no some advocation of any political belief. It is a reality. The food on this earth can sustain us all. The water on this earth can sustain us all. The compassion on this earth can sustain us all. The only question is when do you choose to accept the reality of infinity and you are part of it? When do you choose to love?

I know some of you are probably scoffing right now. My question for you all however is why not?

If you are super rich and you can buy all the food, drink, clothing...you wish then that means the resources are there.

If the labor to build all the hospitals, schools, homes... exist then the resources are there.

If that ignored or persecuted person is part of you then the resources are there.

If true power comes from within then the resources are there.

Hmmm... If we have all that we need what do we lack?

Love! Love every part of you, every connection, every part of the whole. The solution is not gold or iron, men, or machine. The solution is love. Pursue all things in the knowledge that you are a part of all things.

Love begins in you. It's expression flows out. Now there is a ripple that sustains.

Run Don't Walk!

It is sad some of us on this Earth must take old examples as lessons. However, it is nice we have them to guide us. So to those of you out there watch and relearn. The oppression of one is the oppression of all!

Erasure

Most of my life I have dealt with those who want to erase me from existence or at very least erase me from public view. The reasons are many, shame, revulsion, fear...

That time is done! We exist! We love! We are Equal! We're here, we're queer, get used to it!

Shine! Let them see that rainbow. Color their world all those vibrant hues. We've had enough black and white.

You want to dictate religion? Guess what we are in the pew sitting next to you. Some of us are in the pulpit. You want to pass laws? Guess what we are in office as well. Some of us are at the top. You want to take the fight tot he streets? Guess what some of us are the greatest fighters and athletes in the world.

Crusades, Jihads, abominations, degenerate... Words of hate still being uttered. A tired old list of lies.

I only have one word for you all, Love! I find it sad so many run from such a warm and pure thing. it is sad to see people run from the light into the darkness  over that list of lies.

I have stumbled in dark rooms, fallen, and broken many things crashing into the unknown. Turn on the lights. You will find life a lot less scary and things so far away are much closer than you think. It's all about love and always has been.

I love you all but you have to love you. You have to love others. That must begin in you. And in that sentence we both share commonality. As I said we are not so far apart, we are just a light switch away.

Love!

Faith & Family

Normally I do the talking on topics. Today I shall allow others. Faith & Family are LGBT issues. Today I take you all to church.

Romans 12:9

"Love must be sincere. Hate is evil; cling to what is good."

Romans 13:10

"Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefor love is the fulfillment of the law."

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."

1 John 4:7

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God."

1 John 4:18

"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

Proverbs 10:12

"Hatred stirs up conflict, but love covers all wrongs."

1 John 4:8

"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love"

Faith & Family is about love and love is about God. If you have it, you have God on your side. Tell that to those who seek to hate.

Privacy

It seems so much lately I am quoting law to someone or another so after reading what the U.S. Congress is attempting to slide through I'll simply post this.

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Attempting to subvert Constitutional law is very unbecoming.

The Press

I always find it interesting how people forget their own Constitution.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I thought I should leave this here for you all to ponder.

Humanity

I find it a shame when government can focus on petty twitter exchanges, politics, and rivalries but ignores a potential disaster in the making for its own people. No evacuations, no federal resources volunteered, and even a flight ban over the area by the FAA. I must ask is it callous disregard for Human life, political revenge, or simply self absorption? Your people are in need and in danger. Shame on you!

My advice if you live anywhere in the river area all the way to San Francisco Bay leave or be ready to leave. Last record shows water at 2 ft over the spill way with another 5 feet till crest. More rain is expected later this week. Don't risk your lives, things can be replaced.

I am not an expert but I do know what happens when you have soil and rock that has been hyper dried by extreme drought that then becomes hyper saturated, it collapses. It is degenerating fast. It's your choice to stay or go. My heart is with you all. Good Luck!!!
