I look around and see young men marching int he streets. Some carry torches, all with rage. The systematic stripping of Human rights is discussed and done while the masses are distracted easily with flashy displays and rhetoric.
The usual minorities LGBT, Jews, Blacks, immigrants, and whoever else does not fit a racial view are harassed, tortured, and murdered. Fear & helplessness affect many, Some with no way to fight back.
Some religious leaders follow in rank and file along with men of business. The old guard views it as us vs. them. Then comes their time and their names are tarnished with the abuse of others so no one who is left helps them.
What a horrible picture it must have been living in Germany in the 1930's as the Nazi regime came to power. What a horrible picture to see it beginning in your own country more than 70 years later. What would the men and women who fought and died so long ago think upon seeing it now.
My observations are not lies, false, or inaccurate. Watch the news. Believe for yourself.
Any movement left or right, elitist or 99%, pious or common... must honor the individual. This is how we got here. People think it is alright to dismiss the wills of others to achieve their goals, for "the common good," I say the common good is what matters to us all, the commoners.
I have posted this link before. Maybe we need to view its stark similarities again. Maybe we won't have to relearn all the darkness we drove back into the deep dark night.

Usually I add some words here but I would rather another did that today.

History
Maybe it is time we reviewed our history a bit. I know many people find history boring so I shall only give you a couple videos to watch. Please watch and learn. Knowing who we are and how we got here is important.

When a Letter Says It All
I was going through my daily news and found this on Towleroad. Listen to the video if you can but at the very least read the text of the letter. Sometimes a letter speaks such truth and passion it becomes much more than what it is.

LGBT Terminology
So many people new to the LGBT scene come across terms they have never heard or don't know what they mean so today I would like to offer some simple resources that offer definitions. Bear in mind some of these will not be kind or tasteful to some so read them with that warning.

Our Chronicle So far
Continuing on my last post I would like to offer everyone some links to our history. This is only a fraction of what has been lost or hidden but it is a start. Find out who we are and what we have done. Like anyone we belong and have contributed. Maybe we can add volumes to our great chronicle. It only takes one to begin the pen's journey of revelation.
The Schwules Museum is located in Berlin and covers and exhibits many items and topics of gay life and history. The site is in German. (Germany)

History and life stories are out there. These are but a few. Find your heritage and contribute yours. Societies, Museums, Libraries, even archives exist and some may be very close to you. Take the time and learn.

The Right to Love: An American Family
I always try to support Gay families in our community when I can. Jay & Bryan are two wonderful guys who began sharing their family's life on YouTube after Proposition 8 passed in California. They are wonderful examples of family values and that being a gay couple is not so different than any family. We all have hopes and dreams, good times and bad. Most importantly we love and we open our hearts to others. This is the trailer for their upcoming story. Please check it out.
